Peter Jay Alter
Peter Alter is in his 50th year of practicing law in Glastonbury. He has built a practice based on client relationships, handling matters in probate and estate planning, land use, real estate development, business matters and commercial litigation. He takes great pride in creating enduring attorney-client relationships built on cooperation and trust. Mr. Alter has represented entrepreneurial business people in commercial matters and has represented developers and municipalities before boards and commissions, and in judicial appeals of land use decisions, throughout Connecticut.

In 2004, Peter was elected to serve as Probate Judge for what is now the Glastonbury-Hebron Probate District. Since his initial election, he was re-elected twice to continue to serve his community. He retired in January 2015 after 11 years in office.
